Baseball Set to Host Wofford

CHARLESTON, S.C. ­– The Citadel (14-12, 2-1 SoCon) welcomes the Wofford Terriers (18-8, 0-0 SoCon) for a three-game series on March 28-30 inside Joe Riley Park. The first pitch for Friday is scheduled for 6 p.m., followed by Saturday at 3 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m.

Series History vs. Wofford
The Bulldogs and the Terriers have met 128 times on the diamond, with Wofford holding the all-time series record at 75-53. Wofford swept the Bulldogs in the regular season and then defeated the Bulldogs 8-3 in the first round of the 2024 SoCon Baseball Tournament.
 
Scouting Wofford
Wofford is 18-8 overall and is playing in their first SoCon series against the Bulldogs. The Terriers dominated the No. 17 Troy Trojans on March 25, beating them in eight innings, 14-3.
 
Wofford is batting .305 as a team with 254 hits, 51 doubles, four triples, 17 home runs, and 177 RBIs. James Layman leads with a .351 average, Hare/Wynn leads with three home runs, and David Wiley leads with 24 RBIs.
 
The Terriers' pitching staff has a team ERA of 5.10, spanning 219.0 innings pitched, with 215 strikeouts. Champ Davis leads the team in every pitching category.
 
City Series
The Citadel defeated the College of Charleston Cougars, 4-2, on Tuesday night. It is the first win against the College since 2022. The Citadel bullpen threw eight scoreless innings despite the Cougars scoring two runs on one earned run in the first.
 
On Deck
The Citadel begins its first of many road games in a row against the Winthrop Eagles on April 2 in Rock Hill, South Carolina. The first pitch is set for 6 p.m.
