Garrett Fulmer hit his first home run of the season in a 4-2 win over the Northwestern Wildcats in the series opener on Friday afternoon inside Joe Riley Park.
Will Holmes picked up his third win of the season.

How It Happened
- Matthew Lively scored the first run of the game in the bottom of the second inning for The Citadel with an RBI single to left field, bringing in Garrett Fulmer to make the score 1-0.
- Garrett Fulmer gave the Bulldogs the 2-0 lead in the third inning with a solo home run to right field.
- Lane Tobin extended the lead to 4-0 with an RBI single through the right side, scoring Thomas Rollauer in the fifth inning.
- Northwestern added two runs in the sixth inning from a wild pitch and a SAC-fly RBI.
- Anthony Hausner closed the door on the Wildcats by striking the final batter out on a 3-2 count to strand one on in the ninth.
