BIRMINGHAM, ALA. – The Citadel scored two runs in the top of the ninth inning to win against Samford 4-3 to even the series on Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened

Samford scored the game's first run in the bottom of the first inning on a two-out RBI single from Jake Souders.
Garrett Dill tied the game at 1-1 with an RBI ground, scoring TJ Anderson from third in the top of the sixth inning.
The Bulldogs took the lead at 2-1 in the top of the eighth inning with an RBI double by TJ Anderson, bringing Aryan Patel home from third.
Samford regained the lead in the bottom of the eighth inning with a two-run home run by Michael Gupton, bringing the score to 3-2.
The Bulldogs regained the lead in the top of the ninth inning due to a fielding error by Samford, which allowed The Citadel to score two runs and take the lead at 4-3.
Anthony Hausner closed the game for The Citadel by retiring three batters in a row, securing the victory for the Bulldogs with a score of 4-3.
