Stanley Records Career-High in Strikeouts in 7-4 Victory.

KALAMAZOO, MICH. – Andrew Stanley recorded a career-high 11 strikeouts in a 7-4 win over the Western Michigan Broncos on Friday Afternoon.

How It Happened
  • The Bulldogs scored the first run of the game from a throwing error committed by the Broncos to make it 1-0 in the first inning.
  • Phillips Daniels hit a double to right center field, driving in Aryan Patel and giving the Bulldogs a two-run lead after two innings.
  • The Citadel took a 3-0 lead after an RBI double by Anthony Hausner, scoring Travis Elliott in the third inning.
  • The Bulldogs scored their second run of the third inning due to a throwing error by Western Michigan, extending their lead to 4-0.  
  •  Travis Elliott extended The Citadel's lead to five runs in the fourth inning with an RBI single to right field.
  • Western Michigan made it a one-run game in the sixth after scoring four runs on three hits to make it 5-4.
  •  Patel hit an RBI single up the middle, driving in Tobin Lane and giving the Bulldogs a 6-4 lead in the eighth. ­
  •  The Bulldogs scored their second run of the eighth inning with an RBI ground out from Daniels, increasing their lead to three runs at 7-4.
