SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Citadel recorded six postseason honors, highlighted by an All-Conference first team selection for
Maddox Webb along with a second-team All-Conference choice for
TJ Anderson, per an announcement by the league office on Tuesday.
Webb was selected for the All-Conference first team as a relief pitcher, while Anderson was chosen as an outfielder for the All-Conference second team.
Phillips Daniels,
Garrett Dill,
Travis Elliott, and
Lane Tobin were also selected for the All-Conference Defensive Team.
Webb finished the season with a record of 4-1 and five saves, achieving a 3.19 ERA over 53.2 innings pitched with 60 strikeouts and limiting opponents to a .235 batting average. Webb posted a 1-1 record, a 3.21 ERA, two saves, and 26 strikeouts during conference play.
Webb joins JP Sears as the most recent Bulldog to be honored on the All-Conference first team, a distinction that Sears earned in 2017.
The native of Summerville, S.C., pitched a season-high 5.0 innings against Samford on April 11, recording a career-high eight strikeouts.
TJ Anderson earned recognition on the All-Conference second team. He finished the regular season with a .291 batting average, achieving 52 hits, 14 doubles, one triple, two home runs, and 25 RBIs. He recorded a .413 slugging percentage and was tied for the team lead with 28 walks.
During conference play, the Aynor, S.C., product recorded a .397 batting average with 29 hits, 12 doubles, one triple, one home run, 14 RBIs, and a .630 slugging percentage.
Anderson joins Ryan McCarthy as the latest Bulldog to receive recognition on the All-Conference second team, a distinction that McCarthy accomplished in 2021.
Elliott was a standout on the All-Conference Defensive Team, boasting a fielding percentage of .996 with only one error.
Daniels was honored for playing both third base and catcher for the Bulldogs, achieving a .983 fielding percentage and throwing out 12 runners.
Dill achieved a .989 fielding percentage with four errors over 369 chances at first base.
Tobin received defensive honors at shortstop for the Bulldogs after achieving a .922 fielding percentage with 128 chances, 41 putouts, and 77 assists.
