Michael Gibson was tabbed for the NCAA Baseball Championship's Atlanta Regional All-Tournament team, per a media vote.
Gibson led the Bulldogs with a .600 batting average, finishing 6-for-10 at the plate with two doubles, one home run and two RBIs. Overall, he posted a 1.100 slugging percentage and a .615 on-base percentage during the Atlanta Regional.
The native of Rock Hill, S.C., went 3-for-3, including a home run, in the Bulldogs' opening game of the Atlanta Regional against second-seeded Oklahoma on Saturday. In game two versus No. 4 UIC, Gibson tallied a hit and an RBI en route to the program's first regional win since 2010. Finally, he collected a pair of hits, including a double, in the rematch with eventual regional champion Oklahoma on Sunday afternoon.
Gibson emerged as the eighth Bulldog in program history to record a batting average over .400 for a single season, and ranks sixth all-time with a .408 batting average. Additionally, he was one of only two players in the country to have six-plus home runs and 10-plus saves during the season.
