CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Following the release of the Academic Progress Report (APR) data from the NCAA on Tuesday, five programs representing The Citadel Athletics managed to record perfect scores as part of the most recent multiyear output (2020-24), including men's tennis, women's soccer, wrestling and both men's and women's cross country.

In all, the Bulldogs finished with -- baseball (995); men's basketball (978); men's cross country (1000); football (965); men's tennis (1000); men's track & field (979); wrestling (1000); women's cross country (1000); women's golf (979); women's soccer (1000); women's track & field (976); volleyball (994); and mixed rifle (978).

In addition to the multiyear data, the same five sports -- men's tennis, women's soccer, wrestling and both men's and women's cross country -- also secured perfect ratings in the most recent one-year APR for 2023-24.

Each year, the NCAA tracks the classroom performance of student-athletes on every Division I team through the annual scorecard of academic achievement, known as APR. The score measures eligibility and retention each semester or quarter and provides a clear picture of the academic culture in each sport. The most recent APRs are multiyear rates based on scores from the 2020-21, 2021-22, 2022-23 and 2023-24 academic years.

Beginning with 2012-13 championships, teams were required to post a minimum 900 four-year average APR or a 930 average over the most recent two years to be eligible to participate. For 2014-15 championships, teams were required to earn a 930 four-year average APR or a 940 average over the most recent two years to participate in championships. Beginning in 2015-16, teams must earn a four-year APR of 930 to compete in championships.
