Hausner Arm, Bat Propels Bulldogs to Midweek Win Over Winthrop

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Anthony Hausner delivered a strong performance on the mound and drove in a run during a 6-3 victory over Winthrop on Wednesday afternoon.

How It Happened
  • Winthrop scored first in the opening inning with a sacrifice fly RBI from Gabe Natividad, bringing the score to 1-0.
  • The Bulldogs responded in the bottom half of the first inning with an RBI single from Anthony Hausner, scoring Phillips Daniels and tying the game at 1-1.
  • Matthew Lively gave the Bulldogs their first lead of the game at 2-1 with an RBI single to left center, scoring Garrett Dill from third.
  • Winthrop tied the game with a solo home run from Ethan Wilson at 2-2 in the fifth inning.
  • The Citadel gained a one-run advantage at 3-2 with a sacrifice fly RBI from TJ Anderson.
  • The Bulldogs jumped to a four-run lead in the sixth inning with three runs scored. Phillips Daniels drew a bases-loaded walk, Matthew Lively scored on a wild pitch, and Anderson recorded his second sacrifice fly RBI to extend the score to 6-2.  
  • The Eagles cut the Bulldogs' lead to three runs with an RBI single from Jaylen Hernandez at 6-3.
