LEXINGTON, KY. – The Citadel volleyball team received the 2025 AVCA Team Academic Award, announced by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.
The Bulldogs achieved a team GPA of 3.66 for the entire year, earning the AVCA Team Academic Award for the ninth time in program history.
Volleyball programs from across the country continue to prove their dominance off the court as 1,450 collegiate and high school volleyball teams maintained a year-long grade-point average of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale).
"We set very high goals for our athletes both on and off the court. This year, we beat our goal of a 3.5, and that's a testament to their work ethic and determination", said head coach
Dave Zelenock. "There are no 'easy majors' here, so getting a team GPA of 3.66 is truly impressive and reflects the support of our academic advisor and the athletes working together to push for excellence."
