Match Preview
The Citadel begins its Southern Conference match play with two home matches against Wofford on Sept. 25 at 6 pm and Western Carolina on Sept. 26 at 4 pm at McAlister Field House.
 
About the Bulldogs
The Citadel is 0-10 after losing matches at the Wofford Invitational against Gardner-Webb and USC Upstate.
 
Sophomore outside hitter Rachel Reininger leads the Bulldogs in kills with 55, averaging 2.89 per set. Reininger also leads the Bulldogs with seven service aces.
 
Middle blocker Luci Lippelgoos has a total of 35 blocks, including 14 solo blocks and 21 block assists. She averages 1.03 blocks per set and ranks third on the team in kills with 48. She ranks second in the SoCon with her solo blocks.
 
Greta Pleuss has recorded 193 assists through ten matches, averaging 5.68 per set.
 
Scouting Wofford
The Terriers have a 4-7 record this season, recently going 2-1 at the Wofford Invitational with wins over Gardner-Webb and Northern Arizona. Chloe Smith, a 6-1 outside hitter, leads the team in kills with 134, averaging 3.35 per set. Defensively, Annamarie Rakoski, a 6-3 middle blocker, leads both the Terriers and the SoCon in total blocks with 54.0, averaging 1.35 per set.
 
Scouting Western Carolina
The Catamounts have a 4-7 record for the season and are on a four-match losing streak as they begin SoCon match play against The Citadel on Sept. 26. Zoe Zudans, a 6-0 outside hitter, leads Western Carolina in kills with 131, averaging 3.36 per set. Defensively, Courtney Graham leads the Catamounts in blocks with 50.0.
 
Series History
Wofford leads the series against The Citadel 46-10, with the Bulldogs and the Terriers splitting their matchups last year. Western Carolina leads the series against The Citadel 37-12, with the Bulldogs and the Catamounts splitting last year's matchups.
 
Career Day for the Bulldogs
The Citadel had multiple players record a career day in the match against USC Upstate. Rachel Reininger (19), Gwen Berry (13), and Luci Lippelgoos (10) all recorded career highs in kills.
 
Berry contributed 13 digs to record her first career double-double. Greta Pleuss recorded a career-high 47 assists.
