SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Graduate forward
Alice Williamson has been named the Southern Conference Player of the Week after leading The Citadel women's soccer team to a 2–0 road victory at VMI.
Williamson scored both goals on headers in the win on September 28, marking the first multi-goal game of her career. She converted both of her shots on target, showcasing efficiency in front of goal while securing an important conference result for the Bulldogs.
Through 10 matches this season, Williamson has tallied four goals on 30 shots, leading the team in scoring and points. She has started every match, logging 768 minutes of action and providing consistent offensive production for The Citadel.
Head coach
Ciaran Traquair praised Williamson's effort, noting, "I'm really proud and happy for Alice. She empties the tank every time she steps onto the pitch for us and it helps set the tone for our team. I'm sure she will appreciate the recognition and will continue looking to add goals for the rest of season."
This marks the first SoCon weekly honor of Williamson's career and the first Player of the Week recognition for the Bulldogs this season.
Williamson and the Bulldogs return to action on Thursday, October 2, with a 4 p.m. kickoff at Samford.
