CHARLESTON, S.C. – Despite carrying a one-score advantage into an early second-half lightning delay, The Citadel (2-2-1, 0-0-0 SoCon) women's soccer program were forced to settle for a no contest against non-conference foe Vermont (2-2-2, 0-0-0 America East) due to consistent inclement weather sweeping through the region resulting in a cancellation. The match ended without a result as the contest never managed to reach the required 70-minute minimum; the initial lightning delay occurred midway through the 56th minute of play.
The Bulldogs opened the scoring early in the 3', utilizing a corner kick to force a own goal mistake by the Catamounts. Overally, both squads proved relatively well matched, as Vermont led by a narrow margin both shots (5-to-4) and shots-on-goal (1-to-0) while The Citadel notched a trio of corner kick opportunities to the Catamounts' one.
