CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel mixed rifle team scored 4,583, while the women's team scored 4,450, losing to Jacksonville State, which scored 4,667.

Ella Derrick finished as the top performers for The Citadel.
The mixed rifle team tallied a score of 2,550 in the Smallbore and 2,333 in the Air Rifle. The women's team recorded a score of 2,157 in the Smallbore and 2,293 in the Air Rifle.
Braden Michalak was the top scorer for The Citadel as he finished second with a total score of 1,167. Michalak recorded 576 in the Smallbore and 591 in the Air Rifle.
Ella Derrick posted a fourth overall finish for the women's team as she recorded a score of 1,160. Derrick posted 568 in the Smallbore and 592 in the Air Rifle, which was third overall in the Air Rifle standings.
"After a long break from competition, we were finally able to get back on the line. It was a good day for the team; we had two personal bests from Emma and Ella, which is always exciting to see," said head coach
Claire O'Neel. "The team is ready to get back into the full swing of practice and competition, and I'm excited to see where the semester grows and how we grow as a team."
