Baseball Preview: at UT-Martin

CHARLESTON – S.C. – The Citadel (6-8) travels to Martin, Tennessee, to face UT-Martin (8-8) in a three-game series from March 13-15 at Skyhawk Baseball Field. The first pitch for Friday is scheduled for 6 p.m. (ET), Saturday at 4 p.m. (ET), and Sunday at 2 p.m. (ET).

Down Goes the Gamecocks
The Citadel defeated the South Carolina Gamecocks 8-3 on Tuesday night. Early home runs from TJ Anderson (3) and Rhyder Poppell (2) boosted the offensive effort on the way to the victory.
 
The Bulldogs have beaten the Gamecocks every four years since 2014, winning in 2018, 2022, and 2026, and holding South Carolina to three runs in each of the last three losses.
 
Small Ball Leads the Way
The Citadel currently leads the nation in sacrifice bunts with 22. Matthew Lively ranks tenth in the country and leads the team with four.
 
On Deck
The Citadel will travel to No. 8 Georgia on March 17 and then host No. 11 Clemson on March 18.
