SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Citadel junior
Bryce Coulter earned recognition as the Southern Conference Pitcher of the Week, per announcement by the league office Monday afternoon.
"Every time I take the mound, I'm just trying to give my team the best chance to win," Coulter said. "Being named SoCon Pitcher of the Week is an honor, but it's really a reflection of the defense behind me, and the work we've put in together."
Coulter earns his first Pitcher of the Week honor as a Bulldog and is the first Bulldog to earn Pitcher of the Week since Gant Starling in 2023.
A native of Sumter, S.C., Coulter pitched eight scoreless innings against No. 21 Florida State during latter half of a Feb. 28 doubleheader, allowing four hits, one run, zero earned runs and one walk while setting down four on strikes.
"Bryce is an incredible competitor who attacked the zone with a four-pitch mix this week," The Citadel pitching coach
James Reeves said. "He did a great job of putting himself in advantage counts and performed at a high level all day Saturday."
