GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Citadel tennis team fell to Furman, 6-1, on Tuesday afternoon at the Mickel Tennis Center.

Furman secured the doubles point with wins at all three positions to take an early 1-0 lead.
In singles play, Brady Gober earned The Citadel's lone point with a three-set victory at the No. 1 position, defeating Nico Snyder, 6-1, 2-6, 6-3.
Furman claimed the remaining singles matches to secure the 6-1 result.
"Credit to Furman. They came out strong and we were competing from behind for much of the match," head coach Chuck Kriese said after the match. "I thought Ted Bagwell and Graham Hardin showed great toughness battling through long matches, and our team continued to compete until the final points.
"Brady Gober stepped up at the No. 1 position and delivered a strong performance, earning a tough three-set win. I am proud of the effort our team continues to show. We will keep working to improve and prepare for what's ahead."
Up next, the Bulldogs travel to Georgia for three matches this weekend, facing Georgia Gwinnett on Friday at 2 p.m., Emory on Saturday at 9 a.m., and Georgia Tech on Saturday at 4 p.m. ET.
