CULLLOWHEE, N.C. – The Citadel track & field team closed out the 2026 Southern Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships with a competitive final day Tuesday at the Catamount Athletic Complex.

Results
The men finished fourth overall with 87.5 points, good for the fifth-best team finish in program history, while the women placed ninth with 10 points. Across the two-day meet, the Bulldogs totaled five All-Conference performances, 18 top 10 marks in program history, 32 Southern Conference finalists, three freshman records and 14 All-Freshman performers. The Citadel's All-Conference performers included
Jack O'Cain in pole vault,
Arthur Parham in javelin, J.J. Hudson in long jump,
Jack Weil in javelin and
Dylan Horne in discus.
Additionally, the Bulldogs secured six Southern Conference All-Freshman honors on the men's side on Day Two, with
Gage Herring recognized in the 110m hurdles and 400m hurdles,
Jack Wallace in the 800m,
Kyan Sapko in the 400m hurdles,
Myer Daniels in the decathlon and
Daniel Dounian in the shot put. On the women's side,
Liliana Coe notched Day Two All-Freshman accolades in the triple jump while
Jadan Dean was distinguished in the shot put.
"For such a young team, we scored a lot of points this season," head coach
Kris Kut noted. "This group overcame many obstacles, worked incredibly hard and finished on a high note. We have a lot to build on, and the future is very bright moving forward."
Men's Highlights
- Dylan Horne placed third in the discus with a personal-best throw of 48.86m (160-3), earning six points. Horne also scored in the shot put, finishing seventh with a mark of 14.72m (48-3.5).
- Dylan Thompson finished sixth in the 100m with a season-best 10.93, earning three points. Thompson also ran on The Citadel's fourth-place 4x100m relay team that posted a time of 42.26 and scored five points.
- Gage Herring scored in both hurdle events, placing fifth in the 110m hurdles with a personal-best 14.92 and seventh in the 400m hurdles with a season-best 56.85. Herring also ran on the Bulldogs' sixth-place 4x400m relay team that finished in 3:23.77.
- Noah Casa placed fourth in the 400m hurdles with a time of 54.45, earning five points, and also ran on the Bulldogs' 4x400m relay team.
- Kyan Sapko finished sixth in the 400m hurdles with a season-best 55.83, scoring three points, and also competed on the 4x400m relay.
- Langston Bailey turned in a personal-best 13.62m (44-8.25) in the triple jump to place fourth and score five points. Bailey also ran on The Citadel's fourth-place 4x100m relay team.
- Jabraivon Woodard posted a personal-best 13.55m (44-5.5) in the triple jump to place fifth and earn four points.
- Jordan Chestnut scored in two field events, placing fourth in the high jump at 1.95m (6-4.75) and sixth in the triple jump with a mark of 13.46m (44-2).
- Jaxon Brewer placed seventh in the triple jump with a season-best 13.33m (43-8.75).
- Myer Daniels completed the decathlon, logging the following results: posted a personal-best 19.10 in the 110m hurdles; threw 31.80m (104-4) in the discus; cleared 3.65m (11-11.75) in the pole vault; won the javelin with a personal-best 49.41m (162-1); and ran 5:10.55 in the 1500m.
- Daniel Dounian posted a mark of 13.41m (44-0) in the shot put.
- The men's 4x100m relay of Thompson, Demetrius Shine, Logan Branting and Bailey placed fourth in 42.26, scoring five points.
- The men's 4x400m relay of Casa, Herring, Sapko and Daniels placed sixth in 3:23.77, adding three points.
