SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Citadel baseball team secured the No. 5 seed heading into the 2026 Southern Conference Baseball Championship, per an announcement from the league Saturday evening.

Fifth-seeded The Citadel will face No. 8 VMI in the opening play-in game at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, May 20 at Fluor Field in Greenville, S.C.
 
With a win over VMI, The Citadel would face the No. 4 Wofford Terriers at 4 p.m. on Wednesday to start the double elimination round.
 
The Bulldogs finished the regular season with an overall record of 30-24 and an 11-10 SoCon record after the sweep of rival VMI.
 
Notably, the win gave the Bulldogs their first consecutive 30-win seasons since 2009 and 2010, when The Citadel achieved 37 and 43 wins, respectively.
