CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel volleyball head coach Dave Zelenock announced the upcoming 2026 season slate. The Bulldogs will play 30 matches – 18 against Southern Conference opponents and 12 against non-conference opponents.
 
The Citadel's season opens with a tournament at UNCW, featuring an initial match against Kennesaw State, followed by a second match against Le Moyne on Aug. 28 and a final match against the host Seahawks on Aug. 29.
 
Returning home, The Citadel hosts The Lowcountry Volleyball Championship at McAlister Field House on Sept. 3-5. The Bulldogs' home opener will be against College of Charleston on Sept. 3 followed by matches against South Carolina State on Sept. 4 and Charleston Southern on Sept. 5.
 
The following week, The Citadel remains in the Lowcountry as the Bulldogs compete in the Buccaneer Invitational, facing Charleston Southern on Sept. 10, Bethune-Cookman on Sept. 11 and Cal State Fullerton on Sept. 12.
 
The Bulldogs then travel to Troy, Ala., to face Murray State and Troy on Sept. 18, followed by a match against Northwestern State on Sept. 19.
 
The Citadel opens SoCon play with Mercer in Macon, Ga., on Sept. 25-26. The Bulldogs return home for their first league matches against new member Tennessee Tech on Oct. 2-3.
 
The Citadel hosts Furman on Oct. 6 for a midweek match, before heading back on the road to face UNCG in Greensboro, N.C., on Oct. 9-10. Returning to Charleston, the Bulldogs battle Samford on Oct. 16-17. 
 
The Citadel faces Wofford in Spartanburg, S.C., on Oct. 23-24, and Furman in Greenville, S.C., on Oct. 27. The Bulldogs then return home to host Western Carolina on Oct. 30-31.
 
The Bulldogs conclude their road schedule against ETSU in Johnson City, Tenn., on Nov. 5-6 before finishing conference play with home matches against Chattanooga on Nov. 13-14.
 
The 2026 Southern Conference Volleyball Tournament begins on Nov. 19 in Asheville, N.C.
