LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Citadel volleyball program received the 2026 AVCA Team Academic Award, per an announcement from the American Volleyball Coaches Association on Thursday.
 
The Bulldogs recorded a team GPA of 3.49 for the entire year. The Citadel has earned the award six times in a row and 2026 marks the tenth time in program history.
 
Volleyball programs from across the country continue to enjoy widespread success off the court as 1,432 collegiate and high school volleyball teams earned the 2026 AVCA Team Academic Award by maintaining a year-long grade-point average of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale).
 
"We continue to excel academically, even with the challenging majors and academic loads our players face. Our players year after year have pushed to be a top team at The Citadel on the court and in the classroom," said head coach Dave Zelenock. "We will use this to springboard us into the fall season and continue pushing to be the top GPA team here and win another SOCON championship."
