ON PARSONS: Possesses good size and athletic ability... worked his way into a substantial amount of playing time on the defensive line and is expected to compete for the starting job this season.

FRESHMAN (2012): Played in all 11 games on the defensive line … recorded 19 tackles, two tackles for loss, one sack, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery … credited with six tackles, a sack, a fumble and a fumble recovery in the season opener vs. Charleston Southern.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2011 graduate of Butler High School ... lettered three times in football ... served as a team captain ... made 133 tackles with 43 tackles for loss and 17 sacks his senior season ... twice named to the all-conference team and was also first team All-Mecklenberg County and All-Charlotte Observer following his senior year ... played on back-to-back undefeated state championship teams as a junior and senior with his 2009 squad finishing as the No. 2-ranked team in the nation.
