ON GARNETT: Used his experience as a safety to transition into a coverage linebacker spot when injuries required him to change positions.

SOPHOMORE (2012): Played in all 11 games and started in five … transitioned from safety to linebacker … posted a career-high eight tackles and forced a fumble in a win vs. Elon … finished the season with 32 total tackles … recorded a pass breakup in wins vs. Western Carolina, Elon and Furman.

 FRESHMAN (2011): Played in two games vs. VMI and Georgia Southern and made two tackles vs. the Keydets during his redshirt freshman season.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2010 graduate of Fork Union Military Academy ... lettered four times in football and three in basketball and track and field ... had over 500 receiving yards, averaging 24.6 yards per catch, made seven interceptions with 245 return yards and scored seven touchdowns his senior season ... named all-prep and all-state at both wide receiver and defensive back ... member of 2009 team which reached the state semifinals ... finished third in the state in the triple jump.
