HIGH SCHOOL: A 2014 graduate of Sumter High School … lettered all four years in baseball … member of state championship team in 2011 and 2014 … tossed a four-hit shutout with 12 strikeouts against Northwestern in the title contest last spring as Sumter finished the season 28-2-1 and ranked sixth in the nation by MaxPreps … named to all-region team each of his final three seasons … chosen MVP of the North-South all-star game following his senior year and was also the MVP of the state legion tournament the summer after his junior campaign … received Gold Glove Award as a sophomore.
