SOPHOMORE (2017): Made 15 appearances as a junior, all out of the Bulldogs’ bullpen…Worked 19.2 innings and closed the season at 0-1 with a 5.95 ERA…Made nine scoreless appearances including three to start the season…Best outing came in 3.2 innings of work at Mercer (4/23), allowing only one hit…Had a season-high two strikeouts against ETSU (5/7)…Worked 2.2 scoreless innings against Wofford (5/20)…Went five consecutive appearances without allowing an earned run from April 11 to April 23.

REDSHIRT FRESHMAN (2016): Made 32 appearances on the mound for the Bulldogs, tallying a 2-2 record … made season debut against Virginia Tech on February 21, working two innings of scoreless relief and fanning three … notched first win of the season against Siena on February 28 … pitched a scoreless frame in eighth inning against USC Upstate on March 8 and ended the Spartans scoring threat with a strike out … shut the door on Richmond’s scoring threat on March 9 by striking out the last two batters with runners on first and third, preserving the Bulldogs’ 4-2 lead … combined with JP Sears 19 Ks, struck out two at VMI on March 25 to tie the school record at 21 for most batters struck out in a single game … tossed 2.1 innings and allowed just three hits to UNCG on April 10, the nations’ batting average leader at the time … surrendered one hit in 2.0 innings of work against Western Carolina on April 22, fanning one in the 2-1 win over the Catamounts … closed out game against Samford May 13, allowing one hit and registering two Ks … beginning May 13, tallied two strikeouts in four consecutive games including two at No. 10 South Carolina … tossed 1.0 hitless and scoreless inning at No. 10 South Carolina on May 17 … fanned a career-high five batters in a career-long 3.0 innings of work against VMI on May 24 in the SoCon Tournament … Smith, combined with JP Sears, struck out the Keydets 36 times in two outings during the 2016 campaign … finished the season tied for sixth in the SoCon with 32 appearances and 32 games in relief … tossed 42.0 innings and registered 37 Ks.

FRESHMAN (2015): Redshirted season. 

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2014 graduate of Socastee High School … lettered five times in baseball and twice in football … named to the all-region and all-state team at third base and to the all-state team as a pitcher by the High School Sports Report … chosen to the South Carolina Select Team … named second team all-region as a pitcher his freshman year when he struck out 44 batters in 40 innings and was honorable mention all-region pitcher as a sophomore … earned second team all-region honors at third base his junior year … chosen honorable mention all-region as a running back and helped lead Socastee to a record of 24-2 in his two seasons on the football team … member of the honor roll and was a Life Scholarship recipient.
