ON JEAN-PIERRE: Earned the starting cornerback job last season and is expected to add valuable experience as a second-year starter.

JUNIOR (2012): Started all 11 games at cornerback … second on the team in total tackles with 80 … had a season high 11 tackles vs. Chattanooga … recorded 10 tackles and recovered a fumble in a win vs. Elon and also had 10 stops vs. Appalachian State … led the team in pass breakups with five, including two vs. Western Carolina.

SOPHOMORE (2011): Played in all 11 games ... credited with eight tackles including a season-high three vs. VMI.

FRESHMAN (2010): Saw action in eight games as a redshirt freshman ... made four tackles with two each vs. Chowan and Chattanooga.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2009 graduate of Immokalee High School ... lettered three times in football, four times in track and field and once in wrestling ... made nine interceptions, scored eight touchdowns and had 700 receiving yards ... named all-district and All-North/South at cornerback and all-area as a utility player ... member of team that went undefeated in 2007 and was ranked No. 11 in the nation by Max Preps ... also earned all-county honors in track and field.

PERSONAL: Son of Moranie Jean-Pierre ... majoring in business administration.
