JUNIOR (2014): Worked in 14 games including three starts and had a record of 1-3 with an ERA of 8.37 … threw 23.2 innings and allowed 24 hits and 24 runs (22 earned) with nine strikeouts … turned in his best career outing against Rhode Island (2/25) when he allowed only two hits and one run in a career-high six innings … threw 67 pitches with 48 strikes in that performance … gave up one hit in two shutout innings against Charleston Southern (3/26) and one run in three innings against Georgia Southern (4/5).

SOPHOMORE (2013): Appeared in nine games with three starts and had a record of 1-1 and an ERA of 6.38 … worked 18.1 innings and allowed 22 hits and 18 runs (13 earned) with 12 strikeouts … earned his first career victory against Akron (3/12), going four innings in a starting role and allowing only one run without walking a batter … worked three shutout innings and allowed only one hit and struck out five against Furman (4/27).

FRESHMAN (2012): Appeared in 16 games with four starts and had an ERA of 4.96 while striking out 17 batters in 32.2 innings … allowed 39 hits and 22 runs (18 earned) ... worked three innings of shutout ball, allowing three hits in his debut against Delaware (2/24) … did not give up a hit or run in four innings in a start against Charleston Southern (3/20) … came in in relief against Wofford (4/1) and gave up two hits and fanned two in two innings.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2011 graduate of Riverside High School … lettered three times in baseball … had a record of 7-1 with four saves and an ERA of 1.64 covering his final two seasons … helped team win a pair of region championships and earn a top five ranking in the state.

PERSONAL: Brett Ryan Tompkins ... born Dec. 14, 1993 ... son of Tim and Kris Tompkins … father was a four-year football letterman at Delaware from 1979-84 and mother played lacrosse and field hockey at Delaware from 1978-82, helping the Blue Hens win a national title in lacrosse in 1980 … majoring in business administration.
