He served as an offensive quality control coach with the Orange as well as an offensive graduate assistant for the Scarlet Knights, primarily working with the offensive line. He has been part of five bowl appearances overall (Boca Raton, Camellia, Cure, New Orleans and Gator), earning a pair of victories along the way.

While with Georgia Southern, Guard acted in a variety of roles over the course of four seasons. He first joined the coaching staff as an offensive graduate assistant focusing on the offensive line. In 2019, he was hired as the Eagles’ assistant director of player personnel, a position he held for two seasons, helping with the recruiting efforts of the program. Prior to his time in Statesboro, he worked with the offensive line at St. Lawrence.

Guard competed for three seasons at Mount Union before serving for one year as an assistant coach, notably playing a role in the Purple Raiders claiming the NCAA DIII Championship in 2012. He earned his bachelor’s degree in 2015 in business management with a minor in education.

After graduation, Guard was hired as the running backs coach at Albright where he helped the lions capture the Middle Atlantic Conference Championship and advance to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. A seasoned winner, he also owns a New York State high school championship from his time in Geneva.
