Caleb Spencer began working with The Citadel Athletics as an athletic trainer graduate assistant in Summer 2020 and earned promotion to assistant athletic trainer for football in Summer 2022 and later head football athletic trainer in Summer 2025. While pursuing his graduate degree, a Master of Science in Health, Exercise and Sport Science, he served as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer with primary responsibility for the football program.
Originally from Lexington, N.C., Spencer earned his undergraduate degree in Athletic Training from Appalachian State University in May 2020 where he worked with several teams, including two seasons with the Mountaineers' football program. During his time with the football program, he was part of two conference championship teams and two bowl victories.
