Jay Sullivan was hired as the Assistant Athletic Director for Communications & Creative Services by The Citadel Athletics on Sept. 25, 2023.
Sullivan joined the Bulldogs following a two-year stint as the Assistant Director of Communications with the Atlantic 10 Conference office, serving as the primary liaison for women's basketball, baseball, men's and women's soccer and women's lacrosse while also assisting with men's basketball, softball, cross country, track & field and swimming & diving.
Prior to enlisting with the A-10, he worked as the Assistant Director of Media Relations at Nicholls State, covering a wide range of sports including men's basketball, baseball, women's soccer, volleyball, cross country and track & field while acting as the secondary contact for football.
Sullivan began his career within collegiate athletic departments at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, acting as the primary touchpoint for women's basketball, baseball, women's soccer and track & field. He fell in with the Islanders following a two-year stay at Temple, working as the communications graduate assistant for the football program while jointly attaining his master's degree from the School of Sports, Tourism and Hospitality Management.
He initially earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing with a minor in Economics from Texas A&M University in 2015 before later securing his Master of Science in Sport Business from Temple University in 2017.
Sullivan resides in Johns Island, S.C., with his wife, Shelby.
