Biography

2023: Appeared in 33 games, making 24 starts…hit .256 with five doubles and 15 RBIs…singled an drove in a run in season opener against Delaware State…followed it up with a two-run walk-off single the next day…went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs in the series opener against Lehigh…added two more hits in the series finale…drove in four runs in series sweep over LIU…collected five hits and scored five runs in series against Holy Cross.

2022: Appeared in 26 games, making 11 starts…hit .255 with four doubles, two home runs and 13 RBIs…delivered pinch-hit single at Charleston Southern…singled and drove in a run in first start against Siena…homered and drove in two in victory over Saint Peter’s…drove in two runs with a pinch-hit single against Charleston Southern…went 2-for-5 with a double, home run and five RBIs at Charleston…came off the bench to go 2-for-2 with a pair of doubles against UNCG in SoCon Tournament…drove in only run against Mercer.

2021: Appeared in 17 games off the bench…used mainly as a pinch runner…scored as a pinch runner in first appearance against North Carolina A&T…walked and scored against Davidson…also scored against Jacksonville, South Carolina, Mercer and Western Carolina.


2020: Sat out the season with injury.
 
HIGH SCHOOL: Played for head coach Jeff Gregory at Waccamaw High School…four-time all-region selection…finished career hitting .313 with 97 hits, 108 runs, 66 walks and 55 stolen bases…selected to play in the 3A North-South All-Star Game…member of the National Honor Society.
 
PERSONAL: Son of Troy and Sue Montenery…brother, Jaret, plays baseball at Winthrop…majoring in supply chain management.
