Kelsey Mazzocco is in her third year working as the resident athletic trainer for The Citadel women’s soccer program. She also helps out with other varsity and club sports.
Mazzocco came to Charleston from Furman where she served for one year as an athletic training fellow, working primarily with the Paladins’ volleyball and men’s soccer teams, while also helping out with all varsity sports. She also helped with aquatic therapy and served on a six-week surgical/doctor rotation at Piedmont Orthopedics.
Mazzocco has volunteered with the Charleston Marathon (2016, 2018), the Gildan Charleston Classic (2015), the NCAA Basketball Tournament Greenville Regional (2017), the Cooper River Bridge Run (2014-16, 2018), the Reindeer Run (2014, 2015, 2017) and the South Carolina Athletic Training Association High School Workshop (2014-15).
Mazzocco is working on her master’s in clinical counseling. She earned a bachelor of science in athletic training from the College of Charleston in May 2016 after earning a bachelor of science in nutrition and dietetics and a bachelor of science in psychology in May of 2013 from the University of Saint Joseph. She is CPR, AED and First Aid certified by the American Red Cross and is a member of the National Athletic Training Association and the Student Sports Medicine Assocation.
