SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The Citadel senior quarterback
Aaron Miller has been named the Southern Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season after leading the Bulldogs to a 42-35 overtime win over Furman at Johnson Hagood Stadium.
Miller accounted for 233 yards of total offense and four touchdowns, including the game winner when he found the end zone from two yards out in the overtime period. He also galloped 32 yards for a touchdown and added scoring tosses of seven yards to
Jake Stenson and 10 yards to
Vinny Miller in the second quarter to rally the Bulldogs from a 28-13 deficit.
Miller finished the day with 19 carries for 91 yards and completed 8 of 13 passes for 142 yards. His 45-yard pass to
Jonathan Dorogy to the Furman 8-yard line keyed an 80-yard drive that tied the game at 35 with 1:34 remaining in regulation.
The Clover, S.C., native currently ranks second in the SoCon and 34th in the nation (third among quarterbacks) in rushing with an average of 91.7 yards per game while scoring 10 touchdowns. Miller has connected on 55 of 123 passes for 781 yards and another six scores.
In his career, Miller has rushed for 1,689 yards and scored 21 touchdowns, ranking fourth in school history among quarterbacks in both categories. Adding in his 1,819 passing yards, he is 10th in the record book with 3,508 yards of total offense.
