CHARLESTON, S.C. -- The Citadel Athletics announced a new multi-year partnership with Palmetto State Armory on Wednesday afternoon, establishing the South Carolina-based company as the official football jersey patch sponsor of the Bulldogs.
Beginning with the 2026 football season, the Palmetto State Armory logo will appear on the left shoulder of all jerseys for The Citadel, marking the first uniform patch sponsorship in program history.
"Our partnership with Palmetto State Armory represents a natural alignment between two organizations that proudly represent South Carolina and are committed to excellence, tradition, and service," said
Art Chase, The Citadel Director of Athletics. "Having the PSA brand displayed on our football jerseys reflects a shared investment in our student-athletes and in the continued growth of Citadel Athletics. We are proud to welcome Palmetto State Armory as a premier partner and are greatly appreciative of their commitment as we enter this new era of college athletics together."
The partnership reflects the evolving landscape of collegiate athletics while creating a new platform for one of South Carolina's most recognizable brands to connect with Bulldog fans throughout the 2026 campaign and beyond. The Palmetto State Armory logo will feature on home, away and alternate football jerseys worn during competition.
"We're proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with The Citadel football program," said Cameron Tapler, Director of Branding for Palmetto State Armory. "The Citadel has a long history of developing leaders who understand hard work, discipline and service. These same values are deeply rooted in our culture at Palmetto State Armory. We're fortunate to have several Citadel graduates as part of our team, and we've seen firsthand the character and work ethic that institution helps build. As a South Carolina-born company, it's an honor to support the Bulldogs and invest in a program that means so much to our state."
Founded in South Carolina, Palmetto State Armory has grown into one of the nation's leading manufacturers and retailers of firearms, ammunition and outdoor sporting goods while remaining committed to supporting American manufacturing, military members, first responders and communities across both the state and the nation as a whole.
The agreement was secured through The Citadel Athletics' multimedia rights partner, Peak Sports MGMT, which continues to identify innovative corporate partnership opportunities that generate new revenue while strengthening connections between the Bulldogs and industry-leading brands.
"This is more than a jersey patch; it is a statement about where college athletics revenue generation is headed," said Cara Holloway, Owner, Founder and CEO of Peak Sports MGMT. "We are incredibly grateful for our partnership with The Citadel and for the trust they continue to place in our team as we work alongside them to bring bold, meaningful opportunities to life."
Under Armour serves as the official apparel and footwear partner of The Citadel Athletics, outfitting each of the institution's 16 intercollegiate athletic programs, including the manufacturing of all current and future football jerseys.
"Under Armour has been instrumental in helping us expand our branding limits," Chase continued. "We are extremely grateful for our partnership and proud to be in UA's portfolio of collegiate athletic programs."
The football jersey patch will debut during the Bulldogs' 2026 season opener against in-state Southern Conference rival Wofford on Saturday, Aug. 29, launching the beginning of a comprehensive partnership between The Citadel Athletics and Palmetto State Armory.
Logistical and assembly support for the uniforms were provided by Shawn McCarthy and Intentional Merch & Marketing of North Charleston, S.C.
