CHARLESTON, S.C. -
The Citadel and Furman renew the longest continuous rivalry in the Southern Conference when the teams square off at Johnson Hagood Stadium on Saturday at 2 p.m.

The 94th matchup between the Bulldogs and Paladins will serve as The Citadel's Homecoming contest. A live, free video stream is available via the socondigitalnetwork, and the game can be heard throughout South Carolina on The Citadel Sports Network beginning with the tailgate show at noon.

Furman (2-7, 1-3 SoCon) holds a 58-32-3 lead in the all-time series which has been played every season since 1919 with the exception of 1943-46 due to World War II. No school has more wins over the Bulldogs (3-6, 1-3) than the Paladins, while The Citadel win total is second only to its 37 victories over VMI among programs that have always played on the Division I level.

Furman has won three of the past four meetings, including a 24-17 victory in Charleston last year. Going back even further, the Paladins have won 14 of the past 19 dating back to 1995 – a run that followed a four-game Bulldog winning streak from 1991-94.

The Paladins have been the Homecoming opponent for The Citadel on 15 occasions, and the Bulldogs have won six times, most recently a 10-6 victory in 1991. Overall, The Citadel is 37-24 on Homecoming since 1953 and has won its last two, defeating Elon 38-24 in 2012 and Samford 28-26 last season.

The Bulldogs are looking to build on a 28-26 win at Mercer last Saturday, their first in SoCon play this season, while Furman is bidding to snap a losing skid that reached seven with a 31-15 setback at VMI.

Saturday's game is the first of two straight at Johnson Hagood Stadium to conclude the 2014 home slate. The Bulldogs host Samford on Nov. 15 at 1 p.m. before traveling to Lexington, Va., to battle VMI for the coveted Silver Shako on Nov. 22 at 1:30.
