CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Citadel and College of Charleston meet on Sunday at 2 p.m. at WLI Field to decide the winner of the Queens Cup for the 2014 season.
The Bulldogs and Cougars have both defeated Charleston Southern, making Sunday's game the decisive contest in this year's competition. The Citadel beat the Buccaneers 3-1 on Wednesday while College of Charleston edged CSU 2-1 in double overtime on Aug. 24.
The Citadel (4-5) will also be seeking its second win in the past three games against the Cougars (3-5). The Bulldogs recorded their only victory in 12 all-time meetings with a 3-2 win at home in 2011. College of Charleston won the most recent contest, taking a 1-0 victory in 2012 in the last game between the teams as Southern Conference rivals.
In The Citadel's win over CSU,
Vanessa Aponte scored two goals to increase her career total to 19 and move her into fourth place in school history.
Flo Amess, a graduate student in her second season in the program, posted her first goal and assist to help the Bulldogs win their third in a row over the Buccaneers.
Aponte leads The Citadel with three goals and eight points.

Lea Raedle,
Mady Riegel and
Karina Schneider each have two goals, and
Naomi Carter has a SoCon-leading 57 saves and an .803 save percentage, the third-best mark in the league.
College of Charleston is paced offensively by Sarah Cardamone, who has three goals and three assists. Mary Kate Bowers and Hannah Huizenga both have a pair of goals, and Lauren Killian has a 1.11 goals against average.
The Cougars will be playing their first game since a trip to Fort Collins, Colo., in which they defeated Nebraska-Omaha and lost to Colorado State by identical 1-0 scores.
