Biography

CAREER: Returns to action after redshirting a year ago … enters her senior season having played in 55 games with 50 starts … has career totals of 16 goals and 15 assists for 47 points, 203 shots and 95 shots on goal … holds the school for assists, is tied for sixth in goals and stands fourth in points … her shot total is second in the school record book, just 10 shy of Mariana Garcia, and she is third in shots on goal, 19 behind Garcia … twice named to the All-Southern Conference team among her many career accolades.
 
JUNIOR (2012): Played in all 18 games with 16 starts and set a school season record while ranking seventh in the conference with seven assists … stood 68th in the nation with 0.39 assists per game … added three goals for 13 points, tying for eighth in the league in the latter category, and was named second team All-SoCon … led the team and ranked second in the conference with 68 shots, with 32 being on goal … scored with eight minutes left to create a 2-2 tie vs. Charleston Southern, a game the Bulldogs went on to win … tallied a goal and an assist in a victory over Wofford, taking seven shots in the game with four on goal … final goal of the season came in the 73rd minute and evened the game vs. Western Carolina before the Catamounts pulled out the win … assisted on the opening goal in a win over Appalachian State and had two assists and season highs of eight shots and five shots on goal vs. Chattanooga … helped The Citadel grab a 1-0 lead vs. UNCG with an assist … fired six shots vs. Northern Iowa and Furman, gaining an assist vs. the Panthers.
 
SOPHOMORE (2011): Enjoyed an honor-filled sophomore campaign, culminating in her selection as The Citadel’s Female Athlete of the Year … also named first team All-SoCon, one of only two Bulldogs (along with Mariana Garcia) to earn that honor in program history, and was chosen the ninth-best player in the league by TopDrawerSoccer.com … played in 18 games and started 17 times and led the team in goals (8), points (19), shots (83) and shots on goal (43) … set a school season record for shots while also ranking second in shots on goal, tied for fifth in goals and tied for sixth in points … led the conference in shots and tied for fourth in goals and tied for fifth in points … twice named the SoCon Player of the Week … picked up the honor on Sept. 6 after scoring two goals and adding two assists in a 5-0 win over USC Upstate and adding a goal in a narrow 2-1 loss to Navy … found the net twice among her six shots on goal vs. College of Charleston, tying the game 1-1 and 2-2 in an eventual 3-2 victory over the Cougars, The Citadel’s first-ever win over its crosstown rival … also scored goals against Navy, Charleston Southern, Western Carolina and UNCG … assisted on the opening goal in a 2-1 win over Chattanooga … registered a career-high nine shots vs. Presbyterian and Georgia Southern and eight vs. Furman.
 
FRESHMAN (2010): Played in 19 of 21 games with 17 starts and was named to the SoCon All-Freshman team … led the team with five assists and added five goals to tie for second on the squad with 15 points … fired 52 shots with 20 being on goal … tied for 10th in the conference in assists and ranked sixth in shots … helped lead the Bulldogs to the SoCon Tournament for the first time in school history and was named to the all-tournament team … scored the game-winning goal in the second overtime and added an assist in a 2-1 victory over Furman in the opening round … added another goal in a narrow 4-3 loss to Samford in the semifinals … her tournament showing earned her recognition as a CollegeSoccer360.com Primetime Performer of the Week … tallied the first goal in a 2-1 win over Elon and the game winner in a 2-1 victory over Western Carolina and assisted on the game-winning goal in a 2-1 triumph over Appalachian State.
 
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2010 graduate of Winter Springs High School … collected two letters in soccer … played in 27 games over her junior and senior seasons and scored 26 goals while adding nine assists on 142 shots … twice named to the all-conference first team … selected team MVP and chosen as a member of the National Soccer Coaches Association all-region squad as a senior … member of Florida Rush state championship team in 2009 … played on Colombia’s U-17 national team and competed in the World Cup in Germany in 2010 as a member of the U-20 squad.
 
PERSONAL: Daughter of Gustavo and Jacqueline Aponte … invited to try out for the Colombian Women’s National Team as they prepared for the FIFA World Cup … business administration.
