Box Score CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel tennis team suffered a 7-0 loss to Coastal Carolina on Sunday at the Earle Tennis Center.
The Chanticleers claimed the doubles point by taking all three spots to start the match. The Bulldog duo of senior Peter Bleach and freshman Nick Bradley put up a fight in the No. 1 spot against Coastal's Philippe Tsangarides and Kaue Pereira, but eventually Coastal pulled away for a 9-7 win.
Vuk Velickovic and Rick Timmerman topped Artemie Amare and Oliver Dedding 8-1 at No. 2, while Jabor Al-Mutawa and Garik Yedigarian teamed up to defeat Jackson Pride and Connor Grady 8-5 at No. 3.
Amare and Bradley both fell 6-2, 6-2 at the No. 1 and No. 2 singles slots, respectively, while Bleach was downed 6-4, 7-5 by Yedigarian at No. 3. Dedding was topped by Velickovic 6-3, 6-0 in the No. 4 position, Pride fell 6-0, 7-5 on court five and Bove was defeated 6-1, 6-1 in the No. 6 spot.
The Citadel returns to play on the road against Georgia Gwinnett College on Jan. 31 in Lawrenceville, Ga.
