CULLOWHEE, N.C. – The Citadel volleyball team fell to Western Carolina over four sets on Friday evening inside the Ramsey Center.
 
"We struggled from the start," head coach 
Craig Mosqueda said. "A couple of players come in off the bench and made some solid contributions."
 
The Bulldogs (6-17, 0-7 SoCon) dropped the first set to the Catamounts but responded in the second, earning a 25-22 win. Western Carolina (8-16, 2-6 SoCon) claimed the last two sets to solidify the win.
 
Junior 
Megan Sowell posted a double-double for the Bulldogs with 16 digs and a match-high 11 kills. Sophomore 
Carla Bruce followed in kills for The Citadel, with eight.
 
Senior 
Rachel Keefer earned a team-high 27 assists, along with eight digs. Junior 
Samantha Espy led the squad in digs with 24.
 
The Bulldogs will return to McAlister Field House to take on Savannah State on Tuesday evening during their Dig Pink night.
