CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel rifle team earned a win over Wofford on Saturday at the Inouye Marksmanship Center.

"This is as close as we have come to shooting a complete match this season," head coach William Smith said. "Our co-ed team earned a season-high aggregate score, and it was nice to see their practice performances carry into the match"

The Citadel co-ed team took top honors with a score of 4,428, bettering the Terriers' 4,373. The Citadel women's team earned an aggregate score of 4,298.

The Bulldogs were led by sophomores Morgan Long and Colton Poole. Long won air rifle with a score of 573 and finished fourth overall in small bore with 540. Poole won small bore with a season-high score of 557 and took third in air rifle with a score of 567. Charles Yeh Jr. scored 537 for fifth place in small bore, and Hunter Ferguson scored a season-high 564 in air rifle to take fifth overall. Freshman Tommy Simrill shot a season-high 561 to take eighth in air rifle.

Freshman Allison Auten led the women in both guns, scoring 545 for third place in small bore and 567 in air rifle to finish fourth overall. Fellow freshman Brandi Duzz recorded a season-high 563 in air rifle, taking seventh overall. Senior team captain Amber Mills scored 552 in air rifle and 520 in small bore, and sophomore Jennifer Burch registered scores of 558 in air rifle and 504 in small bore.

The Citadel rifle team wraps up its fall schedule next week at SEARC 4 in Dahlonega, Georgia.
