CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Citadel plays the first of its annual home-and-home series against South Carolina when the Bulldogs host the Gamecocks on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Riley Park. The teams meet again on April 8 in Columbia.
The game can be seen on the
SoCon Digital Network and heard on
SportsRadio 1450. As of Monday afternoon there were only a limited number of general admission tickets available at $10 for adults and $4 for children and students. All reserved seats have been sold.
The ticket booth at Riley Park will open at 1:00 on Tuesday.
The Citadel enters the contest with a record of 14-12 and is looking to snap a five-game skid that came on the heels of a nine-game winning streak. South Carolina is 19-9 after dropping two of three to Georgia over the weekend.
The Bulldogs have defeated the Gamecocks at least once in four of the past eight seasons including a sweep in 2009. Since then, however, South Carolina has won eight of 10 over the past five years.
The teams split a year ago, with The Citadel winning 10-8 at Riley Park and dropping a 10-1 decision in Columbia.
The Citadel will start freshman right-hander
Thomas Byelick while the Gamecocks will go with righy Tyler Haswell.
