CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel soccer team fell to the Mercer Bears, 3-0, in Macon, Georgia, on Saturday afternoon.
 
"Mercer put us under a lot of pressure," head coach Bob Winch said. " They are a very athletic team."
 
The Bears (4-4-2) got on the board first, finding the net with 14:30 left in the first half. The score would remain 1-0 heading into the half.
 
Mercer would add to its lead 30 seconds into the second half as Maddie Clark scored from 15 yards out to make the score 2-0. The Bears would tack on another goal in the 50th minute off of a penalty kick to give them a 3-0 lead.
 
The Citadel returns home to continue its SoCon schedule, hosting Samford at 5:30 p.m. on Friday and Chattanooga at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
