SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel men's and women's track and field programs are competing in the annual North Florida Spring Break Invitational on Friday and Saturday in Jacksonville, Florida. The Bulldogs enter their second weekend of the outdoor season after a successful trip to the Shamrock Invitational last week.
North Florida's two-day event hosts competition for both collegiate and prep students. Friday's schedule features the majority of the collegiate events. Admission to the Spring Break Invitational is $7 for a single day and $10 for a two-day pass.
Friday's events begin at 10 a.m. with the women's hammer throw while running events launch at noon with the 100-meter hurdles kicking things off. The opening day concludes with the men's and women's 5000-meter runs, which are set to begin at 7:45 p.m. The Citadel's weekend wraps up Saturday with men's discus and men's javelin competitions.
Ty'Rhonza Harris and Sarah Johnson highlight The Citadel women's competitors at the Spring Break Invitational following solid opening performances to the outdoor season last weekend. Harris placed seventh overall in the 400-meter run to lead The Citadel and Johnson clocked a 26.74 in the 200-meter dash to secure the Bulldogs' top time. Harris and Johnson will compete in those events as well as relays this weekend.
The men will be led by Louis Lawrence, Devin Singleton, Tevin Williams and Josiah Johnson this weekend, who are each competing in multiple sprint events at the Spring Break Invite. The quartet teamed up to place 11th overall in the 4x200-meter relay at the Shamrock Invitational, recording the fifth-fastest time in program history in the process. The group will look to build on that Friday during the relays.
