SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel men's and women's track and field teams are tuning up for their final meet before the 2016 Southern Conference Championships, which run May 12-13. This week the Bulldogs travel to the University of North Florida for the annual UNF Twilight Invitational on Wednesday.
Head coach Jody Huddleston is sending 36 cadet-athletes, including 24 men and 12 women, to the meet that takes places at UNF's Hodges Stadium. Competition begins at 10 a.m. with the hammer throw, javelin, long jump and pole vault. Field events conclude at 3:30 p.m. with the high jump, discus, triple jump and shot put. Twenty of the 36 Bulldogs participating at the Twilight Invite will compete in a field event Wednesday.
Running events launch at 4:30 p.m. and continue throughout the evening. The 4x400-meter relays will wrap up the one-day meet under the lights at 9 p.m.
With the exception of senior Capers Williamson, who placed fifth in the javelin at the Penn Relays, both the men's and women's teams are coming off a bye week in the schedule. Williamson will not compete at the Twilight Invite as he prepares for the SoCon Championships next week.
Results from Wednesday's action will be available on CitadelSports.com. For all the latest on The Citadel track and field squads, follow @CitadelOlympic.
