"We put in a monumental effort and came up just short today," head coach
Ciaran Traquair said. "College of Charleston is the strongest team we have faced this year and they are well coached. We had to be at our best to compete and battle for everything. The girls made me so proud and it gives me great hope moving forward as a group as we search for more wins. I want to give a special mention to the crowd as the support was fantastic today."
Â
College of Charleston (5-3) controlled the ball for the majority of the contest, tallying 20 shots in the game but The Citadel's (3-2) defense held strong and at the half the score stood at 0-0.
