CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel women's soccer team fell to Western Carolina 3-0 on Sunday afternoon at W.L.I. Field.

Western Carolina (5-6, 2-0 SoCon) took an early lead in the contest on a goal in the 6th minute. Goalkeeper
Abby Koger saved the initial shot by the Catamounts but the ball was rebounded and knocked to the back of the net to give WCU a 1-0 lead. That proved to be the only goal in the half despite both teams combining for 16 shots.

In the second half, WCU added two more goals to push their lead to 3-0. Despite tallying four shots in the second 45 minutes of play, the Bulldogs (3-6, 0-2 SoCon) were unable to mount a comeback and Western Carolina clinched the win.

Goalkeepers
Logan Leask and Koger split time in goal for The Citadel, combining for eight saves.
Mady Riegel led the team with three shots and two shots on goal while
Tinslee Dilday and
Samara Nche each finished with two shots.
