Bulldogs Begin First Dual Matches Saturday

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel tennis team will compete in its first dual matches of the season on Saturday in Clemson, South Carolina.
 
In 2016 the Bulldogs earned nine victories, achieving the highest single-season win total under head coach Chuck Kriese. The Bulldogs return a majority of the squad that led the program to its most wins in a season since 2008.
 
Michael Anzalone returns to the Bulldogs for his sophomore campaign after earning 11 singles wins in 2016. The Bulldogs also welcome back sophomore Matthew Henson, who tied with Anzalone for most singles wins for a freshman with a total of 11 wins.
 
The Bulldogs will take on Georgia Southern at 1 p.m. at Clemson's Hoke Sloan Tennis Center before competing against Clemson at 6 p.m. The Citadel will continue regular season play with a doubleheader against North Carolina State on Monday in Raleigh, North Carolina, beginning at 10 a.m.
