COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Citadel tennis team (0-6) dropped both matches of a doubleheader to South Carolina (2-0) on Friday.

The doubleheader was originally scheduled for Saturday but was pushed up due to forecasted inclement weather. In the first match senior
Connor Grady and freshman
Noah Nawabi faced the Gamecocks' Sam Swank and Andrew Schafer at the No. 3 position in the doubles competition, where the Bulldog duo fell 6-2.

In the singles competition, Nawabi battled No. 92-ranked Thomas Mayronne at the No. 3 position before falling 6-3, 6-2. South Carolina swept the first match in the singles and doubles competitions, earning a 7-0 decision against the Bulldogs.

The Citadel's
Roy Hobson and
Matthew Henson teamed up in the doubles competition against South Carolina's Yancy Dennis and Harrison O'Keefe at the No. 1 position. Hobson and Henson dropped the match with a 6-1 decision. The Gamecocks won the second match by sweeping the doubles competition and singles competition to claim a 7-0 victory.
