Brabston Wins Individual Honors, Co-ed Rifle Finishes Second

RESULTS

DAHLONEGA, Ga. – 
The Citadel rifle team performed well on Saturday, Oct. 21, in a tri-match with 17th-ranked North Georgia and 23rd-ranked Georgia Southern at North Georgia's COL. Raymond C. Hamilton Rifle Range.

The Bulldogs' co-ed team finished the match second with an aggregate score of 4544, just 43 points behind the Nighthawks' 4587. Georgia Southern finished third with a 4497 while The Citadel's women's team ended the day with an aggregate score of 4137.

Freshman Max Brabston tied North Georgia's Dakota Spivey with an overall score of 1151, but Brabston won the tiebreaker to claim top honors on the day. Brabston finished third in smallbore with a 570, but picked up the missed points in air rifle, where he finished sixth with a 581.

Allison Auten rebounded from a 12th-place finish in smallbore (549), ending her day second in air rifle with a 588, just two off Georgia Southern's Rosemary Kramer who paced air rifle with a 590. Auten's 1137 aggregate score was good enough for eighth overall.

Alexander McAlear gave the Bulldogs three shooters in the top-10 overall finish as he ended his day with an 1130, including 10th in smallbore with a 554 and eighth in air rifle with a 576.

Colton Poole, Morgan Long and Leah Fenwrick-Wallace rounded out the scoring for the Bulldogs on Saturday. Poole ended the day with a score of 1130 (556 smallbore, 570 air rifle), Long ended his day with an 1118 (545 smallbore, 573 air rifle) and Fenwrick-Wallace finished the match with a 1097 (532 smallbore, 565 air rifle).

For the women's team, Carli Cline led the way with a 1079 on the day, including a 523 in smallbore and 556 in air rifle. Just behind her was Shay Littlejohn, who finished the day with a 1055 (517 smallbore, 538 air rifle). Lauren Pringle ended her day with a 1005 (489 smallbore, 516 air rifle) and Tierra Price rounded out the women's team's scoring with a 998 (485 smallbore, 513 air rifle).

The Bulldogs will next host 23rd-ranked Georgia Southern, 25th-ranked UAB and Wofford on Saturday, Oct. 28 at the Inouye Marksmanship Center.
