CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. –Despite a strong performance, The Citadel volleyball team fell to Southern Conference foe Chattanooga on Saturday, Oct. 28 in Chattanooga, Tenn.
The Mocs (13-12, 6-5 SoCon) earned two quick wins in sets one and two to go up 2-0 over the Bulldogs. The Citadel (8-22, 2-11) answered by taking the third and fourth sets 27-25 and 25-22, respectively. The Mocs then returned to capture the 15-11 win in the fifth, sealing the 3-2 victory.
Freshman
Sharlissa De Jesus set a personal best as the lead attacker for the Bulldogs with 23 kills. De Jesus also had the teams' second-most digs with 16, following senior
Gracie Barnes who collected a personal-best 20 digs.
The Bulldogs will continue conference play when they travel to Furman in Greenville, S.C. on Wednesday, Nov. 1. When the Paladins (16-8, 8-1) battled the Bulldogs in McAlister Field House on Tuesday, Oct. 3, the Paladins had a hot start and earned the 3-1 win.
