CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel volleyball team dropped its match to Southern Conference foe Western Carolina on Friday, Nov. 10 in McAlister Field House.
The Bulldogs (8-24, 2-13 SoCon) had a hot start against the WCU Catamounts (11-18, 6-10) in the first set but fell 27-25. The Cats continued on to win sets two and three 25-19 and 25-22, respectively, to earn the 3-0 victory.
Sophomore
Sarah Dobrich led the Bulldogs with four blocks on the night to tie The Citadel's all-time single-season record with 121 total blocks. Freshman
Sharlissa De Jesus was the lead attacker with 16 kills and senior
Moriah Smith followed closely with 12 kills. Freshman
Megan Fuhr was also a key impact player for the Bulldogs and tallied 23 assists and 16 digs.
Up next, the Bulldogs will host the UNCG Spartans (17-10, 10-5) on Saturday for Senior Day, the final match of the regular season. The match is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. and will be broadcasted on ESPN3. Live stats and full results will be available at CitadelSports.com.
